Coronavirus Protocols

Welcome Back!

It's a relief to finally be able to have our doors open!  We will continue to do so in a responsible and conscientious manner based on evolving state and city regulations.  Our in-studio classes are strictly limited both in terms of  number of classes offered and size of class.  Things remain in flux; be sure to check the class schedule on a regular basis.

First Classes to Open In-Studio

Beginning on Monday, June 8, 2020 we began offering, in addition to our virtual classes,  a limited number of in-studio, live-streamed classes.  As part of our protocols, the class size for in-studio attendance is limited to 10 or less.  Live streaming creates two options for you - the opportunity to attend live and in-person, and the choice for a streamed, virtual experience.

For in-studio/live-streamed classes, you will see two classes in the same time slot on our class schedule .  One is an option to sign-up for the in-studio class, and the other for the live-streaming class.  They will be clearly labeled as either "virtual" or "in-studio."  Please pay close attention to your selection to ensure you are booking the class you desire.  If you do not feel comfortable attending an in-studio class or a virtual class, please consider a private in-studio yoga session.  Please contact us to schedule a one-on-one experience.

NOTE:  In-studio classes will be offered at the regular in-studio rates and virtual classes will be offered at virtual rates.  Please contact us to discuss pricing of private sessions.
Reopening Protocols - What to Expect at YCD

Your health and well-being, along with the health and well-being of our staff, is our number one priority.  We are working diligently each day to create a safe and healthy place in which we can all practice.  Although scientific understanding and government mandates will change as we move forward, we will continue to remain compliant with the governor's executive orders and we will continue to follow the recommended COVID-19 protocols from our public officials - city, county and state - as well as those from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).  Here's what you can expect when you come to the studio:

  • What YCD will offer / do:
    • Hand Sanitizer at the front desk -  Is available at all times.  We recommend using it before and after attending a class.
    • Face mask or covering - Per state and city mandate, all staff members are required to wear a face mask or covering at all times while in the yoga studio, including instructors during an in-studio class.
    • Disposable Masks - Disposable masks are available for anyone who arrives at the Yoga Center without one of their own.
    • Props - YCD will offer props for your use during class, however, each student is responsible for sanitizing the props when class is finished.  Sanitizing products will be provided by YCD.  We also have props and a prop bag available for sale at the front desk.
    • Space to Practice - We have taped off 6' x 4' rectangles on the floor of the studios in which students will practice.  Each rectangle has been spaced 6' apart to comply with social distancing recommendations.
    • Limited Number of Students - We are strictly limiting the number of students in each class, based on social-distancing guidelines and all current city/county/state guidelines.
    • Observe Social Distancing - All YCD staff members and instructors will observe social distancing (6' apart from others) at all times while in the building.
    • Studio Cleaning - YCD will clean all areas of the Yoga Center (practice studios, surfaces, restrooms) daily.

  • What You will do:
    • Register for Class Online - Always register for class via MindBodyOnline mobile app or our website.  Please double check that you are registering for the class you intend to attend ("virtual" or "in-studio").  All in-studio students must be pre-registered and confirmed for you to attend.
    • Arrival Time - Arrive at the Yoga Center 15 minutes before the scheduled class time to allow for appropriate protocols to be followed.
    • Canceling In-studio Class - If your plans change and you are unable to attend an in-person, in-studio class, please cancel your reservation as soon as possible.  These prime spots are popular.  YCD needs 60 minutes notice, at a minimum, to give others on the waiting list the opportunity to attend.
    • Do not attend if Unwell - Please do not come to the Yoga Center if you are unwell or immunocompromised (register instead for a virtual class).
    • Entering / Exiting - Please enter through the South door of the building and exit through the North door.
    • Face Mask or Covering - Per state mandate, all students / visitors are required to wear a face mask or covering at all times while inside the building, including during your yoga practice.
    • Movement Through the Building - Move between the lobby and the practice studios efficiently to help maintain social distancing, and to limit social interaction before and after class.
    • Props - Students are encouraged to bring their own personal props, or they may purchase props from the front desk or utilize the YCD props in the studios.
      • If a student utilizes the props in the studio, they are responsible for sanitizing them at the end of class.  Sanitizing products will be provided by YCD.
      • If you do not feel comfortable utilizing YCD's soft props and do not have your own, we encourage you to bring a towel to cover studio bolsters and blankets.
      • Students are asked to set aside blankets, bolsters, and belts used during class (they will not be used again for at least 24 hours).
    • Space to Practice - YCD has taped off 6' x 4' rectangles on the floor of the studio in which students will practice.  Each rectangle has been spaced 6' apart to comply with social distancing recommendations.  Students and their props must stay inside their marked practice space during class.
    • Observe Social Distancing - Please observe social distancing (6' apart from others) at all times while in the building.
Thank you!

We know these times are challenging and we know things will continue to evolve, but we also know that if we work together we can make each class, each practice fulfilling for all.  Thank you for your patience and understanding as we venture down this new, uncharted path.  By working together, being mindful and respectful, we will continue to share the joys and benefits of yoga!
